Shazia Mazhar

Shazia started her surfing journey at 40, finding solace in the water as she went through a big life change. Since then she has become a regular part of the Great Lakes surf community, surfing year round both on the lakes and in the ocean on the east coast of Canada. Shazia has been a Lake Surfistas organizer for a number of years, focusing on project planning of the yearly event, communications, education, community engagement and is a Level 1 ISA certified surf judge. . When she's not surfing, Shazia is advises executives on people strategies, and is a board member for Mujeres Que Mueven, empowering women in Nicaragua. She splits her time between Toronto, Ontario and Musquodoboit Harbour, Nova Scotia with her partner and 2 cats.
